The Academy is located at Thorapadi, next to Central Prison and opposite to Special Prison for Women, Vellore, Tamil Nadu.Vellore is well connected by road and rail. Inter-state buses and long route intra-state buses are plying from New bus stand, which is 5 KM away from the Academy. The nearest major railway station is Katpadi Jn., which is 12 KM away. The nearest airports are situated at Chennai (130 KMs), Tirupati (120 KMs) and Bangalore (215 KMs).

From both Katpadi Railway Station and Vellore New bus stand, city buses (Route No. 1 & 2) are available at every ten minutes to APCA. Visitors who are using city bus service can get down at ‘Female Jail’ bus stop.
